So now you must have understood the meaning of image optimization and you must have come to know why image optimization should be done. Now I am going to tell you how to do image optimization so that you can bring your blog in search results.

You have to keep one thing in mind, you have to read carefully the methods which are going to tell you because by using all these methods you can take your blog to the search result.

So Let’s start

1. Use Related To Image Post

Using images related to your post is the first and most important step of image optimization, the search engine cannot see your images, but it directly affects the users visiting your post.

The images used in the post tell about your post, the user can see the photo and guess what he will get to read in the post.

We get a lot of clicks because of the image, which increases CTR.

2. Optimize Image Name

The name of the image used in the post should be chosen correctly. Just like we have to use keywords in the title of the post, in the same way, it is necessary to use keywords in the name of images as well.

Image name by default sjfirr1.jpg may be such which is not correct from an SEO point of view.

You have to use your keyword instead of the name of your images, this will help your post to get rank in search engines.

3. Do Image Alt Tag Optimization

The Alt tag is a very important part of optimization. The search engine treats the image space as a blank space, which is not correct from the SEO perspective. If we use alt tag text then the search engine definitely crawls the alt tag.

To boost the post in the search engine, you should use your keyword in the alt tag. When the search engine crawls it, it will understand what this image is about.

If you are writing a post on “How to on-page SEO

” then you should use “On-page SEO” in the alt tag.

4. Reduce Image size optimization

Reducing the size of the image can help you create a fast-loading website while providing your visitors with an immersive experience in the form of great-looking images. Image size directly affects the speed of your website, you choose the size according to the theme.

If you talk about me, then I use the size of the image 700×380 in my post.

One thing must be kept in mind that if your blog is on Blogspot then you have to reduce the size of the images before loading them in the post, you can reduce the size very easily by using a paint tool.

5. Image Compression

The higher the volume of the image file, the longer it takes to load. That’s why you have to compress your file.

I keep the volume of the image used in my post only from 50kb to 70kb.

You can use an image compressor to compress online images,

6. Choose the right image format

There are many types of image formats, but in a blog post, it is correct to use two types of formats .jpg and .jpeg,

In both these formats, even if we reduce the size of our image, there is no difference in its quality and the volume of these files is also less. The volume of this file format remains between 40kb and 60kb.

7. Create Image Sitemap

You should also maintain an image sitemap in your blog like we keep a sitemap of our posts. This helps your images to be indexed in google search engines and even when Googlebot crawls your website, it is easy to understand your website.

If your blog is on WordPress then you can use the Jetpack plugin, this plugin generates image sitemap automatically.

8. Use Image Optimization Plugin

It is good to use a plugin to optimize the image, if your blog is on WordPress, then you will find many plugins there, using which you can optimize the image of your post.

  • WP Smush Optimizer
  • Shortpixel Image Optimizer
